Labor Day and the start of Fall are top of mind when I think of September. Many businesses and schools give their employees, students, and faculty a break on the first Monday in September to celebrate the American labor movement. The autumnal equinox will be September 22, this year and this is one of my favorite times of year; the weather in Central Illinois begins to get a little cooler. Most of the hot summer days are behind us and we look forward to cool nights and more bonfires. In certain parts of the state, you’ll begin to see leaves turning color and different plants beginning their fall bloomage. This is a great time of year for nature hikes and enjoying the outdoors.
