Red, white, and blue... July is synonymous with celebrating our country’s independence. July 4th is one of the most celebrated holidays in America and is usually enjoyed with a backyard BBQ and fireworks. Remember to enjoy the celebration safely. Since Springfield is the state capital, there is a lot of celebrating around town for the July 4th holiday. For years, my family has enjoyed the fireworks display at the State Capitol. Lake Springfield also has a great July 4th celebration at the marina and at several lake clubs. July has some pretty delicious month-long observances, too! The three that stand out to me... National Watermelon Month, National Hot Dog Month, and National Ice Cream Month. Get out there and enjoy July!

I have been a State Farm agent since 2008. I am an IL Army National Guard veteran, and father of 3 children. I love supporting our Military Veterans, Springfield Public Schools, the Rock & Run for Mental Health, the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery and many other local events. I buy local whenever possible.
